Tattoo Longevity in Microrealism

The Healing Process: Why Your Tattoo Doesn’t End When You Leave the Studio

Getting a tattoo is not just about the session itself it’ also about how it heals. Microrealism is a highly detailed and advanced technique that requires precision, but the final result also depends on how your skin receives and heals the ink. Not all areas of the body react the same way, and some fine details may soften or lighten as the skin recovers.

This is why I always encourage my clients to send me a photo of their healed tattoo. It helps me ensure that my work maintains the best possible quality over time. Some areas, like the inner arm, ribs, or hands, are more delicate and can heal differently. The skin may absorb ink unevenly, become more irritated, or require extra care during the healing process.

Adapting the Design for Long-Lasting Results

Every tattoo is unique, and the way I design and apply the ink varies depending on the size, placement, and skin type of each client. My goal is not just to create a great-looking tattoo on the day of the session, but to ensure that it will still look amazing years down the road.

For this reason, some tattoos might need a touch-up, while others won’t but this can only be determined once the tattoo has fully healed. Keeping open communication with your tattoo artist is crucial to guarantee the best results.

Stay in Touch for the Best Tattoo Experience

If you ever have any concerns about your tattoo’s healing process, or if you just want to make sure everything looks perfect, don’t hesitate to reach out. My goal is for every tattoo that leaves my studio to heal beautifully and last a lifetime. Since microrealism is highly detailed, in most cases, I believe that a second session will ensure the best possible results.

So, if you got a tattoo with me, send me a photo once it’s healed (normally 3 weeks) I’ll always be here to make sure your tattoo stays in top shape.

Oh! Almost forgot to mention this! Over time, your tattoo might start to look a bit dull or dry, but this is often just a sign that it needs some hydration. Just like your skin, tattoos benefit from occasional moisturizing to keep the colors and details looking fresh. Using a light, fragrance-free moisturizer every now and then can help maintain the vibrancy of your tattoo and prevent it from looking faded or ashy. Taking care of your skin is taking care of your tattoo!
